Easy Turkey Day Decorating

Are you looking for simple ideas to decorate your Thanksgiving table? I have looked around and gathered a few ideas that might help give your creativity a boost.

I don’t happen to be a fan of silk flower arrangements or plastic acorns, squash, or pumpkins. Actually the pumpkins aren’t so bad, but paint them white or pale green. You can find these colors in natural pumpkins in the store as well now so you don’t really have to change them (or paint).

If you’re lucky and live where the leaves change, you can cut a few branches and use them in a tall glass vase to add height to your table. Or just lay them down the middle of the table and place votive candles inside small squash or pumpkins near them for a simple look. Don’t use scented candles because it will compete with the yummy smells of your turkey and dressing.

Take the colors from Indian corn and use them as your color palette. Aubergine, cream, and charcoal gray are a beautiful combination. You can see that  you aren’t stuck with orange anymore. Below is a simple arrangement that conveys the holiday from Martha Stewart using different types of squash. Turning squash into vases makes them a little more interesting.

Diva Alert: Better Homes and Gardens painted natural pumpkins with iridescent paint and added a little glitter to these guys. I like the cake stand to elevate as well.
