Maybe you like the gentle curves of Traditional style, but long to add in some sleeker lines. You’re in luck! Your decorating personality is called Transitional. It combines elements of both Traditional and Contemporary styles.
Transitional is not eclectic, but right in the middle of these two styles, it still feels familiar but you can update as often as you like. Fewer accessories are used and pieces in this style are simple, less ornate, with sophisticated lines. It’s also called “updated classic.” Transitional style is less formal than Traditional.
Lighter colored woods and leather upholstery are popular. Metal, glass, and wood are used in different combinations. Transitional Style keeps the classic look of Traditional, but fits a more Contemporary lifestyle.
